In January we welcomed the Northern Powerhouse Minister to our opening event at Thornton Science Park, and he cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the project. The event marked significant progress at Protos: there is now £15 million invested in the road network and ecological areas, the wind farm is fully operational, and the biomass facility is nearly completed.

The newsletter also provides more information on our other activity, including our work to produce a film to showcase Protos, and the most recent contributions that the Protos Community Benefit Fund has been making to good causes in the local area.

We are also pleased to let you know about the completion of one of the Protos green spaces, now open for the public to enjoy. We’ve diverted a section of Marsh Lane through the space, and we’re working with Cheshire Wildlife Trust to ensure people can enjoy the wildlife, new planting and meandering footpaths.
