Putting energy innovation at the heart of northern enterprise, Protos will take the spotlight at an upcoming event in Liverpool.

Protos Managing Director Myles Kitcher will take to the stage at Insider’s ‘Made In The UK’ Conference at Merseyside Maritime Museum at Albert Docks on Thursday 22nd June 2017. He’ll be discussing an ambitious vision to put the North West at the epicentre of innovation in the energy sector.

Myles, who boasts a 20-year career in the energy and waste industries, is passionate about how bringing together forward-thinking businesses can help bolster the UK’s economy and productivity. He’ll be talking about how clustering a mix of energy generators alongside energy-intensive industries and their supply chains can underpin manufacturing and enterprise.

He’ll be sat alongside leading experts on an ‘Energy’ panel. Speaking ahead of the session, Myles said:

“Everyone rallies behind the desire to boost the nation’s productivity. It’ll take innovative concepts to make sure the UK keeps its reputation as a world-leader in sectors such as manufacturing, science and energy.

“We’re working with partners to create an environment at Protos where new energy ideas can be researched, tested and deployed at a commercial scale. By doing this at the heart of the north’s industrial landscape near Ellesmere Port – where some 5% of the UK’s energy is consumed – we can provide a supportive destination for industries and their supply chains.

“We’re hopeful that, if this is successful, it will provide a blueprint for similar destinations with energy as the focus across the UK.”
